2021 felt like a long slumber. I didn’t feel especially inspired or “awake”. 2022 slithered in quietly, without fanfare. And then I heard a word. And then I heard a song. And suddenly, I’m awake and inspired.
The Word: Contribute
I spontaneously participated in a Winter Wellness Challenge the first week of 2022 hosted by my functional medicine doctor. Day 1 we looked at the Emotional Vibration Scale by Abraham Hicks. I noticed attraction to the words discouragement and doubt on the lower end. Moving up the list, I found contentment, optimism, eagerness and passion-purpose. But what was I eager for and where was the passion pointing? A small ember was glowing.
As Dr. Mark explained the Six Levels of Human Needs, I felt eagerness overtake me. I want to contribute to society. I want to add, not detract, from this universe in which I reside. I scribbled in the margins: new freebie, video package, summit/challenge. How do those scribbles move from ideas to reality? Automations, campaigns, freebies, packages, niches, tags, segments, and so many other terms nearly smothered the ember of contribution.
The Song: Fall Afresh
Days later, I am at church. Attending in person was not a priority in 2021; I felt lost, abandoned, and disconnected. Yet, 2022 is a new start and I’m at church. A new-to-me song is played. I feel the passion spark being blown on. It is bursting into flame. The lyrics were singing deep into my soul and streaming out my mouth. (I pray that paints a picture for you. It was so powerful!)

Caverns Filled With Fresh Air and Light
I still don’t know the details of how I’m going to contribute in 2022. But I have renewed energy. Thoughts and ideas invaded my body, mind and soul. The spirit fell afresh on me. I awakened. The caverns of my soul filled with fresh air and light!
